Corporate Wellness

Infinite Mindcare offers wellness and mental health programs for companies located in the Cayman Islands. It is important that the employees at a company not only have access to services for their physical being, but also their mental health and well-being. We can provide counseling services and much more to everyone on staff, allowing your employees the chance to express themselves and discuss their feelings and issues in a confidential setting as well as supporting management and the organization as a whole. A corporate wellness program can help employees experience more job satisfaction, and feel more comfortable within their work environment, as well as decrease overall stress both at work and away from the job.

At Infinite Mindcare we customize each corporate service using knowledge of coaching, organisational and clinical psychology to enhance your team. The goal is to learn concepts and practical strategies that will enhance group cohesion, prevent burnout, and create sustainable ways of managing pressures within the workplace. Psychologists are well placed to deliver workshops and training in relation to leadership, interpersonal effectiveness and resiliency. The workshops are provided by a Team of Doctoral and Master level trained clinicians with the goal of being as interactive as possible. We teach and guide teams in a corporate setting how to apply cognitive and behavioral, evidence supported techniques and strategies that will allow them to live and work at their highest potential, both personally and professionally.

Drugs and Alcohol

Drugs & Alcohol

We are proud to offer a unique blend of PRIVATE, EXCLUSIVE, EVIDENCE-BASED drug and alcohol treatment programs in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.

Rebuilding Lives

Our goal is to provide excellent treatment for substance use in a private setting to ensure complete confidentiality, while allowing our clients to still participate in their daily lives on the island.

Restoring Hope

While there is currently no accreditation for addiction treatment in the Cayman Islands, Infinite Mindcare’s IOP program exceeds the standard required by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

Reuniting Families

We work closely and personally with our clients to identify the skills, education, and therapies necessary for them to gain control of their lives. We often involve significant others, family members and/or children in treatment.

In order to get started in one of our programs we first require you to complete a Pre-Assessment session where we work with you to determine the level of care that is needed. This session is 90-120 minutes long. It is necessary that a loved one of your choice, familiar with your concerns, attend the first part of the session. (Pre-assessment is not required to start our DUI programme)

The programmes we currently offer:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders (CBT for SUDS)

Continuing Care

Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Court Approved Programme

Intensive Crisis Management Programme

Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP)

Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Decision Resolution

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders (CBT-SUD)?

CBT-SUD is a short-term psychotherapy (or “talk therapy”) that addresses substance use disorders and problems related to substance use. CBT-SUD focuses on the relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Your therapist will work with you to help you reach your treatment goals. CBT-SUD works well with other treatment services including support groups and medications.

What happens in a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders (CBT-SUD) session?

CBT-SUD sessions are structured by including:

  • A weekly assessment of substance use
  • A summary of the previous session
  • A review of homework assigned during the last session
  • An agenda of topics to be discussed
  • Homework for the coming week

What are the goals of CBT-SUD?

In CBT-SUD you will work with your therapist to decide on treatment goals that are important to you. Your therapist will assist you in making and maintaining changes in substance use. CBT-SUD can help to improve the quality of your life and overall level of functioning.

What kinds of topics are covered in CBT-SUD?

You and your therapist will work together to determine what topics will be most useful for you.
The topics that will be covered might include:

Cravings and Urges

Social and Recreational Counseling

Support for Sobriety

Problem Solving

Alcohol & Drug Refusal Skills

Mood Management

Listening Skills

Does CBT-SUD work?

Decades of research have shown that CBT-SUD is a highly effective treatment for people with substance use disorders.

How long does it take?

CBT-SUD consists of approximately 12 individual sessions with a therapist. Each session lasts about an hour. Clients are usually seen every week.

If you decide to participate in CBT-SUD you will be asked to:

Attend sessions regularly

Work together with the therapist to set therapy goals

Practice new skills both inside and outside of session

Provide feedback to the therapist about progress and how the therapy is helpful to you

It will be important for you to use what you learn during the therapy sessions at home.

Intensive Crisis Management Programme

Our Intensive Crisis Management Programme is for individuals with significant mental health concerns (Bipolar and Schizophrenia spectrum disorders) and may also serve those dually diagnosed with substance use disorders. This program meets daily for 30-60 minutes with a client who is either exiting inpatient/residential care or requires a high degree of individualised support to stabilise themselves to fully engage in individual psychotherapy work. The duration of the session is determined by need and the client’s capacity to engage in stabilising exercises. Common exercises include short term goal setting and problem solving to restore basic daily functioning. This program begins with a minimum of 2-weeks with regular reassessment of progress to determine transition to a different level of care.

Continuing Care

The success of those in early recovery depends on what happens after treatment and how the individual incorporates the new skills and thought processes into their everyday life. It requires continuing to work on themselves, and the support of an entire community… family, friends, coworkers, etc.

In order to keep the knowledge alive when the IOP is complete, our Continuum Care program or Aftercare (as it’s often referred to) consists of one 90-minute one -on-one session per week for 12 weeks. This helps the client hold themself accountable for the new healthy habits they are forming, while continuing to work on the other issues that they are experiencing like anxiety, stress, depression, relationship concerns, etc.

Infinite Mindcare is a lifelong partner in each client’s recovery journey, and we are continually ready to provide them with extended care guidance and advice, no matter where life takes them after they have completed their time in one of our exclusive, revolutionary treatment programs.

DUI Programme

Our Cayman Islands Court Approved DUI Programme consists of an 8 hour curriculum completed in two or four sessions.

The programme is based on the premise that our participants are responsible for the choices they make. This program can help participants to make informed decisions but, ultimately they alone possess the power to choose. We recognize the diversity of our participants in terms of their relationship with alcohol and/or other drugs, experience, education, culture and willingness to change existing attitudes and behaviors. As a result, clinician flexibility is an important component in meeting the individual needs of our participants.

The primary goal of our Court Approved DUI Programme is to reduce the number of alcohol and other drug related offenses and crimes. Some of the objectives include:

Developing and implementing

a change plan to help avoid future problems with alcohol, other drugs and impaired driving

Evaluating participants

own use of alcohol and/or other drugs

Exploring the connection

between thoughts, feelings, and behavior as it relates to impaired driving behavior

Learning accurate information

about alcohol and other drugs and their effects on the mind, body, behavior, and driving ability

Exploring how

alcohol and/or drugs affect behavior, the body, the family and the community

One-on-one, brief, private, and confidential

Our program is done in the privacy of one of our many, comfortable, therapy offices. Sessions are completed on a one on one basis with a Master’s or Doctoral Level clinician. Being part of a group is not required.

Flexible Scheduling

Our clinicians have evening and weekend hours available. This program is completed in (4) two hour sessions.

Evidenced-based techniques

Our Programme, is evidenced based, meeting the ASAM 0.5 Level of Care as well as SAMSHA’s National Registry of Evidence Based Practices and Programs. It utilizes Interactive Journaling, Transtheoretical Model (Stages of Change), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.

**A certificate of completion and a letter to Cayman Islands Traffic Court will be given at the end of the program. It is important to note that if someone participates in this programme, prior to sentencing the Court would consider their evaluation and this may impact the length of disqualification BUT not the fact of disqualification, which is still mandatory. **

A mandatory part of our program is to have a loved one involved in the process during 1 hr per week of family counselling.

We work around the life commitments of each client to establish a time frame that will allow the client to commit to the program while still maintaining their obligations at home and at work.

The program covers many topics that will allow the client to MANAGE their recovery plan including:

Assessing the spectrum of use

Understanding triggers

Coping with change

Handling pressure and stress

Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Decision Resolution

Oftentimes people and their families reach out to us in need of support but not quite ready to enter our intensive outpatient program. SUD Decision Resolution is a two week program to resolve ambivalence or uncertainty around entering into a program that is a major commitment to self and others.

Each week consists of 3-hours of therapy that focuses on exercises to build awareness related to the impact of substance use in one’s life, exploring reasons for making the desired change, enhancing motivation for change, etc. After the two weeks, together with the therapist, the client will decide if they would like to start a more intensive program, attend weekly counselling sessions, or choose another path completely.
