Holly Venn, MSW, is a Social Worker who works with children (age 13 and up), adolescents, adults, and families. She focuses on providing services for individuals with Anxiety Disorders, Depression, along with other emotional dysregulation disorders as well as issues around identity & sexuality.
Holly is an extremely personable and enthusiastic professional who has a very open and warm approach to treatment. She leads with a non-judgemental and empowering steer, which helps her to create rapport with clients quickly.
Using a holistic viewpoint, Holly considers an individuals wider support network and social influences whilst delivering her work and believes this is instrumental in successful treatment. She has experience and training in a variety of therapeutic approaches such as: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Management of Self-Harm. Like a few of our other professionals at Infinite Mindcare, Holly is a âLGBTQIA+ Championâ and has completed additional training with Stonewall to add to her understanding of identity and sexuality in adolescents and adults.
Holly graduated with a Masters of Science (MSc) in Social Work, with First-Class Honours in the UK, and is Registered with CPAM in the Cayman Islands. Her undergraduate degree is in Communication Studies, specifically focusing on learning how to read verbal and non-verbal cues in communication.
She has previous experience in a variety of clinical settings with the NHS & UK Local Authorities; including a secure, acute mental health hospital. It is here she learnt how to use solution focused & evidenced based practice to treat and work alongside individuals with severe borderline personality disorder that included daily experience & exposure with suicidal ideation, eating disorders, self-harm, sexual abuse and substance misuse.
Holly is passionate about continuing her professional development, so she is able to treat each unique client effectively by bringing new knowledge, tools and techniques to her sessions. She is currently working towards full certification in CBT with the BECK Institute.
