FAQs

How can I make an appointment?

To schedule an appointment, we first ask that you complete our intake form and provide us with your insurance and payment information. Once we receive this information, we will confirm your insurance benefits and contact you to schedule the earliest available appointment.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept several Cayman insurances including: Aetna, BAF, Britcay, Cayman First, Cinico, Fidelity/Vanguard, PanAm. If you have overseas insurance such as Cigna, you will need to pay for your sessions out of pocket, however, we can provide you with an invoice with all relevant information to give to your insurance provider for direct reimbursement. In order to use your medical insurance, you must have an outpatient mental health benefit for use on the island. While we verify your insurance benefits and provide you with an estimated breakdown of co-pays, you are ultimately responsible for understanding your own benefits.

Does seeking advice mean something is wrong with me?

No. Many people seek counselling to understand themselves or others, to develop personally, or simply to manage life. As humans, we all experience stressors and difficult emotions. Therapy is a means to learn to develop our functioning skills and build greater resilience, regardless of the circumstances.

What is counseling?

Counseling/therapy involves meeting with a therapist (such as a counselor or psychologist) to address emotional, social, or behavioral concerns. Trained and licensed clinicians work with you to consider a variety of treatments according to your treatment goals. The benefits of therapy are numerous and may include improved mood, personal growth, and interpersonal relationships. Disclaimer: Just because you come to therapy does not mean you will change or improve. The willingness to make changes is ultimately up to the individual. Please remember that we typically only have 1 hour per week in our offices and most of the change happens outside of the therapy room.

Counseling is not about coming to vent for an hour. While we have couches and you can lay down, we do not perform psychoanalysis. Counseling is an active process where the client shares and receives feedback, develops skills, and practices interventions to help in their real life outside of the office. Yes, there are times when people just need to ā€œventā€ and feel heard. And we have a space for that, to be sure. We will also encourage change.

How many sessions will I need to achieve my goals?

There is no definitive answer to this until you see your therapist. The average counseling treatment usually lasts 3-6 months, however, each person is unique. Some people come to us and feel like they got what they were looking for in 1-3 sessions. The first few sessions are assessment and getting acquainted. It is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist and the process, and sometimes it takes some people longer than others to feel comfortable.

What is Mindcare?

How we empower our clients and ourselves to create optimal mental health, i.e. healthy mental health habits

The Flower of Life is a sacred geometry believed to hold information about the secrets of all life and is, in essence, a blueprint for all life. Its design symbolizes the interconnectedness of life on Earth from a scientific and ecological standpoint, as the symbol has been found throughout the world since ancient civilizations, as well as in the biology of plant and human life.

At Infinite Mindcare we believe that you hold all the answers and tools within yourself; that you are the expert of your own life. Our job is to help you see that in yourself and to help you actively live it through everything you do in and out of the therapy office.
